Join us on May 18, 2024  for a fun & retro “80’s Prom” themed Gala

We will be hosting our upcoming annual fundraising event which proceeds Texas Through Time and will be used to continue to improve our educational exhibits, activities, building renovation, operational expenses for the year, and events that serve our local community and visitors.

Guests come prepared for a night of dinner, desert, 80’s music and silent auctions that benefit the museum’s new building renovation as well as exhibits and free events throughout the year.

This year’s event is 1980’s prom themed with popular music, items, and styles from the decade for a fun and unique, retro event. Guests may come dressed in 80’s prom/cocktail attire and can have their “prom” picture taken in front of our eighties backdrop.

This event includes a delectable dinner catered by Bon Appetite of Waco, TX (menu below), a silent auction with tickets to destinations, local museum memberships, fun and rare items, and is Hillsboro’s swankiest annual fundraising event!

Dinner is $75 per person.

Drink package tickets will be available separately and can be purchased at the event.

All proceeds go to Texas Through Time, a 501c3 Nonprofit organization.

Take a journey through space and time with our new exhibition: Eclipsing the Past: A Texas Territory Meteorite Exhibit.

A collaboration between Texas Through Time, Aerolite Meteorites and Science Arts and Space Institute, this 6 week- long exhibit includes 20 rare space rocks found in the original Texas Territory.

Meteorites are space rocks that fall to Earth’s surface. They are the last stage in the existence of these types of space rocks. Before they were meteorites, they were meteors, they were meteoroids floating through the solar system. Learn about their journey through space to the lone star state and view real meteorites found right here in Texas!

The exhibition is 6 weeks long, beginning April 6th through May 11, 2024. This is the very first exhibit located in our new location, the historic school building located at 310 East Walnut in Hillsboro, TX.

Showcased in Eclipsing the Past is the incredibly rare & large “Monahans” meteorite found in 1998 that fell in Ward County, Texas, the evening of March 22, 1998.

The exhibit will include 20 rare meteorites on display, a space themed sensory activity table and celestial kid zone, a presentation by Aerolite Meteorites President, Elizabeth on Saturday, April 6th at 3:00pm and a deep space presentation by NASA astronomer Dominic Benford at 7pm on Sunday, April 7th.

Tickets are $15 adults and $10 kids ages 2 & up.
